Inner Wave Therapy provides a part time and full time psychological assistant fellowship. This requires registering as a Psychological Assistant with the Board of Psychology. Both pre-doctoral and post-doctoral interns may register as a PA. Our training model is designed to introduce and enhance your knowledge of private practice, sharpen your outpatient clinical skills, and cultivate your identity as a private practice psychologist. We ground our training in psychodynamic, existential, humanistic, and intersubjective principals. Just as we help our patients find their authentic selves, our mission is to provide training conducive to your individuation as a practitioner. Our office culture prioritizes warmth, flexibility, and independence. We embrace diversity and inclusion. All applications are considered equally. Interns who are specifically interested in psychodynamic psychotherapy, adult psychological assessments and business development are encouraged to apply.
Psychological Associates
Inner Wave Therapy is boutique group practice focused on serving the Los Angeles community. The population served are young-middle age adults who may struggle with a mood disorder and/or experiencing phase of life issues, relationship concerns, or difficulty with work/life balance. Our mission is to help people gain insight, regulate emotions, individuate, and foster healthy relationships.
Duties: Conduct intakes, provide psychotherapy for adults, facilitate group therapy, conduct limited cognitive assessment, report writing, attend individual supervision, group supervision and didactic training.
Hours and location: This 12-month program and 20 hours per week is required. Inner Wave Therapy is located in La Crescenta (north of Glendale). There is opportunity to work from home providing telehealth.
Compensation & Benefits: Competitive per-session fee is provided. More detailed information will be provided during the interview process.
Supervision: Supervision is designed to meet California licensure requirements. This includes individual and group supervision and didactics. Professional development will be introduced to build business acumen and clinical skills necessary to develop an effective private practice. Our supervision aims to refine the skills you already have and provide an opportunity for growth. The skills you bring to Inner Wave Therapy are valued, and we encourage interns to be open to share their experiences while learning in a collaborative atmosphere.
